We collaborate closely with local actors and community organizations who are on the front lines, aiming to amplify their efforts with our support and to introduce innovative solutions tailored to meet community needs. Youth Development and Leadership
At the AJ Terrell Foundation, we are committed to enriching the educational and athletic experiences of Atlanta's youth through strategic partnerships that enhance support in schools and extracurricular activities. We have collaborated with the Athletes Foundation, a leader in promoting the academic athletic coach as a professional role in schools, to sponsor two academic coaches in high schools within Atlanta. Our goal is to increase this number, helping students learn to navigate not just sports but also the broader challenges of life. Additionally, our partnership with Camp HBCYouth allows us to contribute to the operational costs and program funding, helping to ensure that young people have access to enriching summer experiences on HBCU campuses. The foundation is also committed to supporting access to quality athletic equipment, enhancing sports programs and facilitating robust athletic development.

Our team’s dedication and diverse expertise drive the AJ Terrell Foundation’s commitment to empowering Atlanta’s youth. Each member brings unique skills and a shared passion for making a meaningful impact in the community.
Originally from Rochester, NY, and an Atlanta resident since 2001, Aundell is a dedicated family man and grandfather. His commitment to fitness and youth empowerment plays a big role in our foundation. He lives by the motto: “The Difference between Ordinary and Extraordinary is the Commitment to doing EXTRA.”
Dee Thompson is a seasoned business advisor with decades of experience managing the lives and businesses of professional athletes and entertainers. Founder of Advise Sports & Entertainment, Dee oversees all aspects of AJ Terrell Jr’s personal, business, and community efforts.
Gayle Iles is an accomplished IT consultant with extensive experience in corporate accounting and data integration. Her precision and corporate discipline ensure our projects are delivered on time and on budget.
With a rich background in strategic planning and community empowerment, Tenisha Valliant-Irvin brings over a decade of expertise in supporting nonprofits and athletes. Her work spans significant collaborations and a commitment to fostering sustainable impacts through effective philanthropy.
